Born 1st October 1946 at Saltaire, West Yorkshire, UK. Winner of prizes for painting from age 6. Studied at Bradford School of Art (1962-66) under the same tutors as his peer David Hockney. Returned to teach there for a time (1971-2). Works are in private and corporate collections. Loves to experiment in all kinds of media but always returns to painting. His works have a mischievous double-edged humour. He describes his work as "noneism", a reaction against all the other "isms" applied to art.
